After the official listing of the State Administration of Financial Supervision on May 18, 2023, its dispatched agency - the Financial Supervision Bureaus of various provinces and some cities - will be uniformly listed on July 20, 2023.

The State Administration of Financial Supervision was established on the basis of the former China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (hereinafter referred to as the "CBRC"). Previously, the "institutional nature" of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission was a "directly affiliated institution of the State Council", while the "institutional nature" of the State Financial Supervision Administration has been clearly defined as a "directly affiliated institution of the State Council". Staff members are included in the unified and standardized management of national civil servants, and the salary and treatment standards of national civil servants are implemented.

The nature of the organizational structure of the State Council is diverse, including the General Office of the State Council; And 26 "Ministries of the People's Republic of China" including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense and the People's Bank of China; 14 "directly affiliated institutions of the State Council", including the General Administration of Customs, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the State Administration for Financial Regulation, and the China Securities Regulatory Commission; Xinhua News Agency, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Media Group and other seven "State Council institutions"; 1 "Special agency directly under the State Council", namely the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; One "State Council Office", namely State Council Research Office; In addition, there are 17 "national bureaus managed by State Council ministries and commissions" including the National Data Bureau.
